This year’s general election will be one of the most entertainingelections ever to be held in the country as entertainers like Ebi Bright and Kwame Dzokoto have joined the political race.

Last week, Kumawood actor, Abraham Kofi Essuman Davis, popularly known in showbiz as Salinko expressed interest in becoming aparliamentarian, representing the people of Atwima Kwanwoma in the Ashanti region on the ticket of Progressive People’s Party (PPP).

The actor who shocked his constituents and fans for not knowing the name of his Party’s National Chairman has been asked by the founder of the political party, Dr. Paa Kwesi Nduom, to return his nomination
form.

Speaking at the party’s headquarters in Accra Wednesday evening, Dr.Nduom said Salinko should concentrate on his acting career rather than forcing himself into politics. According to him, politics is for serious-minded people, not those who do not even know the names of their national chairmen.

“My attention has been drawn to a very serious issue going on in our party. I’ve been informed that Salinko has picked up a nomination form to contest for the Atwima Kwanwoma seat on the ticket of our highly reputable party, PPP. Let me please use this opportunity to advise him to return the form so he can concentrate on making people laugh through movies.”

“PPP is there for serious people and for Salinko not been able to mention the name of his National Chairman, it shows how unserious he is. Like I said, I would advise him to return the nomination form and focus on his movies. If he still wants tobe a politician, I think he can join Akua Donkor’s Ghana Freedom   Party (GFP), not my reputable PPP,” Dr. Nduom said.

The former Chief of Staff, being in the person of Mr. Prosper Douglas Bani is named as the Minister Designate for Interior in the first reshuffle of His Excellency John Dramani Mahama's reshuffle list 2016.

Mr. Prosper Douglas Bani was relieved of his post in the month of February last year 2015 and was being replaced with Julius Debrah.

But Fiifi Kwetey, the Minister for Agriculture, has been appointed as the Minister Designate for Transport to replace the person of Dzifa Ativor who actually resigned from her position on the 23rd December, last year due to the shocking GHc3.6 million bus branding saga issue.

Also,Alhaji Mohammed Muniru Limuna being the person in-charge as the Northern Regional Minister, takes over now as the current Minister for Food & Agriculture.

Furthermore, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama has also appointed Mr. Kenneth Wujangi, who is in charge as the Management and Integrated Rural Development Specialist, now appointed as a Deputy Chief of Staff (Operations) to be heading as the Deputy Chief of Staff at the Flagstaff House.

The statement which was being signed by the Chief of Staff being in the person of Mr. Julius Debrah, also helped in the announcement of the nomination of some Ministers of the State which are as follows;

#1. Edwin Nii Lante Vanderpuye being a Member of Parliament(M.P) as the Minister Designate for youth & Sports

#2. John Alexander Ackon as the Minister Designate for the Ashanti Region

#3. Kweku Ricketts Hagan who is a Member of Parliament(M.P) as Minister Designate for Central Region.

#4. Mavis Ama Frimpong- Minister Designate for the Eastern Region

#5. Abdallah Abubakari- Minister Designate for Northern Region

#6. Albert Abongo - Minister Designate for the Upper East Region and also a Member of Parliament.

After the nomination of the current Ministers to head our beloved State, these were some of the personalities that are being appointed to stand as Deputy Ministers to help other Ministers to be able to head the State efficiently;

#1. Andy Osei Okrah- Deputy Minister Designate for the Ashanti Region

#2. Robert Baba Kuganab-Lem - Deputy Minister Designate for the Upper East Region
